As a growing team, we are looking for a skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our clinic and assist in the delivery of high-quality care.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at Alpha Wound Care. As a PA, you will play a critical role in the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with various types of chronic and acute wounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wound care, excellent clinical judgment, and a passion for patient care.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
Certification: Current Physician Assistant license in the state of Virginia. Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care or a similar clinical setting is preferred.
Skills:
Strong clinical skills in wound care assessment and management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations.
Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with chronic, acute, and non-healing wounds.
Perform procedures related to wound care, including debridement, dressing changes, wound measurements, and other interventions as necessary.
Educate patients on proper wound care, preventive measures, and lifestyle changes to support wound healing.
Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed and providing follow-up care.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Clinical Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed patient records in accordance with medical and regulatory standards.
Document wound assessments, treatment plans, and patient progress in electronic health records (EHR).
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the medical team to discuss patient treatment plans and outcomes.
Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members to ensure cohesive care.
Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and educational sessions to enhance knowledge and provide the best care.
Patient Education & Support:
Educate patients on wound prevention, proper nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments to promote faster healing.
Provide emotional support and counseling to patients dealing with chronic or severe wounds.
Continuous Improvement & Learning:
Stay up to date with the latest trends, research, and advancements in wound care.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training in wound care and related fields.
