Meet Dr. Marcus F. Yarbrough

His interest in wound and burn care began during his general surgery training at Howard University Hospital, where he saw firsthand the critical need for more specialized care in treating burn patients. This sparked his passion for combining advanced wound care with innovative treatments. After completing his residency, Dr. Yarbrough pursued further training with fellowships in Burn and Critical Care in Philadelphia, as well as Burn and Plastics at the Long Island Plastic Surgery Group in New York. He’s also board-certified in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which allows him to offer a range of advanced treatments for his patients. Dr. Yarbrough is a frequent speaker at national conferences on wound and burn care, and he serves as a speaker and consultant for Convatec, Kerecis, and Polymedics Innovations, companies specializing in wound care solutions.

 

He has authored several research articles and is an active member of many professional organizations, including:

Medical Society of Virginia, American Medical Association, American Burn Association, American College of Surgeons – Fellow, American Professional Wound Care Association, Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, Wound Healing Society, Association for Advancement of Wound Care.

 

Looking ahead, Dr. Yarbrough envisions Alpha Wound Care Solutions and Wellness growing into a hub for education and training, where providers can learn about the latest in advanced wound and burn care. His goal is to not only improve care but also raise awareness about the importance of patient advocacy, especially for those facing challenging wounds and burns.
