Medical Assistant

Alpha Wound Care Solutions and Wellness, LLC, is excited to expand our services with the opening of our Newport News office in March 2025! We are seeking three (3) skilled and compassionate Medical Assistants to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide essential support to our physicians and nurses, delivering high-quality wound and burn care to patients across the Hampton Roads community.
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited medical assisting program; certification (CMA or RMA) required
Experience in wound care, dermatology, or a related medical field is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patient care and education
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care and Assistance: Support physicians during wound and burn care procedures, including cleaning, dressing, and preparing patients for treatments.
Wound Assessment and Documentation: Record detailed notes on wound progress, assist with initial assessments, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts.
Sterilization and Equipment Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a well-stocked supply of wound care materials.
Patient Communication and Education: Provide post-treatment instructions, educate patients on home wound care, and answer questions about their treatment plans.
Infection Control and Safety: Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a clean, safe clinical environment and proper disposal of medical waste.
Clinical Coordination: Assist with wound debridement, dressing changes, and scheduling follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care.
